Uncharacteristic Weekend
30 Aug 2009
Team Hurricane rolled into Dublin Motor Speedway with high hopes for the weekend. The team was anxious to get on the track since the night before was rained out at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. The team went through our normal race preps and got the car ready for Hurricane Hank.
After the once over of the car, it was time for practice. Hank climbed aboard the Williams Plantworks Open Wheel and put the car through its paces. The car seemed to handle well, but had a hesitation in the car. The team worked to cure the problem, but the issue seemed to get worse as the night went along.
Hank rolled out on the track to qualify and again the car felt good, but as he rolled through turns three and four he hooked a rut which caused us to qualify in the 8th place position. Again, the team went to work looking at what might be happening.
As race time approached, the team was hopeful, but we knew there was still a gremlin that we couldn’t quite figure out. Hank lined up in his spot in the line up and prepared to race. As the green flag flew, Hurricane Hank moved up through the field eventually catching up to the leaders. Unfortunately, the hesitation came back and made it very difficult for Hank to pass the top two cars and the team settled for a well earned third place finish. Overall we had a good night and we are looking forward to our next races for the month of September. As usual, we have full confidence in our team and its ability to find our hesitation and we will be back to try our luck again!
Congratulations to Jeffery Tyndall on his win!
We’d like to Thank our sponsors Williams Plantworks, P&M Performance Racing Engines, Belangers Bodies and Graphics, Butler Motorsports Media and SSR Race Cars for their support this year.
