Another Win for the Hurricane!

02 Jun 2010

After a fine run the week before in Lancaster, Hurricane Hank came home to run against the toughest competition around.

Hank and the team rolled into Dublin Motor Speedway with a well earned second at Lancaster Motor Speedway the week before and all were hoping to continue that streak on our home track.

After working all week changing the car back to meet the Dublin rules, the entire team was excited to get back on the track and during practice Hank knew the car would be fast. Once he came off the track, we all talked about how the car felt and if any changes were needed. Hank looked at us and said the car felt good and to leave it alone. This is always music to the crew’s ears.

The team anxiously waited for the qualifying. As Hank strapped in the Williams Plantworks/P&M Performance Open Wheel, everyone had butterflies. Hank took the car to the chute and we waited for his lap. As he rolled out on the track, Hank brought the car up to speed and turned a lap of 18.17, which was good enough for the outside pole.

As the night went on, we watched the track as it dried out and wondered if we had the right setup in the car. A dry slick track is one of the hardest to read and figure out how to get traction on. So we waited to see……

During the feature, Hank lined up outside of the pole sitter Ricky Boahn and prepared for the start. Hank knew he was going to have to drive the car in hard on the first lap and hope she stuck. As the green flag flew, we all waited to see if it did. It didn’t take long for that question to be answered as he took the lead on the high side in 1 and 2. Hurricane Hank did a masterful job piloting the car throughout the race and led every lap for the WIN!

It was a terrific night for Hank and the team.

We would also like to Thank P&M Performance Racing Engines, Williams Plantworks and SSR Racing for helping us make this possible.
