The team had another good weekend. Everyone went through the normal prep work. Tires were checked, nuts and bolts were checked and all looked good. So we sat back and waited for practice.

The car was fast in practice. Everything checked out, but we decided to make a few changes to see if we could get the Williams Plantworks Open Wheel to hook up a little better for qualifying. The changes were made quickly and efficiently by the team, ride heights were checked and then we waited to qualify.

Hurricane Hank climbed into the car and strapped himself in. All of us were getting a few butterflies, wondering if the changes were the right ones. As Hank entered the chute we held our breath a bit as we all had to wait and see. Hank rolled out on the track and set the fast time of the qualifying session putting the P&M Performance Racing Engines Open Wheel on the Pole for the feature. Hank and the whole team were relieved that our changes were good and the car responded well.

Hank lined up on the pole for the feature. The team had made some minor changes after qualifying and, again, we were all nervous. As the green flag flew, Hurricane Hank and the Wild Child Willie Milliken were door handle to door handle for the first lap, Hank on the inside and Willie on the outside. Willie showed a lot of muscle running the high groove, but Hank was eventually able to clear the Wild Child to take the lead. The racing was tight and Willie was able make several runs at Hank and the top spot, but Hank kept his cool, raced his own race and took home the top honors by winning.

And that makes 11 wins on the year. We are having an incredible year and we would like to “Thank” our sponsors, Williams Plantworks, P&M Performance Racing Engines (awesome power) and SSR Race Cars. Without their help, we wouldn’t be racing.
