After working hard all week to fix the power steering issues from the week before the entire team was excited to get back to Dublin to try our luck. After all the prep work, the Williams Plantworks Open Wheel was ready to hit the track.

Just before qualifying the team went through our normal preps, checked tire pressures, warmed the engine up and checked a few nuts and bolts to ensure everything was the best we could make it for Hurricane Hank. After all the checks, Hank took the car to the staging lanes to prepare for his qualifying lap. As he rolled on the track the car looked good and as he came to the green the care was nice and solid through turn one and two and had her wound up getting into three. The car rotated well and then the rear tire hooked a rut causing us to qualify in the fourth place.

The team made some changes to help the car with traffic and sent Hank out for the feature. Starting in the fourth position, he had his work cut out for him. As the green flag flew Hank passed for third on the outside coming out of turn two on the first lap and then made the pass on the inside for turn two. That’s where we would finish. Hank ran down the leader, but didn’t quite have enough to get around the leader, Ricky Boahn.

Overall we had a solid night with a second place finish!
